A host of English clubs have been linked with a move for Lazio’s Mario Gila and Tottenham have reportedly joined the race for the Spaniard.
The centre-back has impressed in Serie A since his arrival from Real Madrid and in the 2024/25 season, he played 43 times and became a leader-like figure at the back in what was a frustrating season for the Rome club.
Il Messaggero, as relayed by LaLazioSiamoNoi, have taken a deeper look at the defender’s future and they reveal Tottenham, Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain are interested in signing him.
That attention has left Gila a bit indifferent to the idea of staying in Rome, but new manager Maurizio Sarri can play a key role in his future even if Lazio will not play in Europe next season.
Gila has confidence in Sarri and that could make things difficult for Tottenham. The 24-year-old is of the opinion the Italian’s return to the Olimpico can help him take a key step further in his development.
That is why it will not be a surprise if Gila ends up staying at Lazio despite multiple major clubs keeping a close eye on him.
