Tottenham have lined up Genoa defender Koni de Winter as a replacement for Cristian Romero make a move to Atletico Madrid.
That’s according to Tuttomercatoweb, who say Tottenham have shown an interest in the defender alongside Bournemouth.
They explain that De Winter is currently the prized piece on Genoa’s transfer market. He is seen as one of the most interesting profiles in Serie A and has plenty of suitors thanks to his performances with Genoa since first arriving on loan in 2023.
Big sides such as Inter Milan have shown interest in him and even established contacts in the last few hours ahead of a major overhaul in the squad this summer.
But there is also interest in the Premier League. Tottenham are keen, especially with Cristian Romero potentially on the way out, and Bournemouth also interested. The Cherries have already lost Dean Huijsen and Ilya Zabarnyi is close to joining Paris Saint-Germain.
Genoa value the defender at €25m, who cost them €8m to sign on a permanent basis from Juventus in June 2024.
Whether Bournemouth or Tottenham are willing to pay that remains to be seen but they are in the mix for the 23-year-old, nonetheless.
