Burnley’s move for Lazio’s Loum Tchaouna has been on a little transfer rollercoaster over the past week or so.
At one point, it felt as if the transfer would go through quickly. That talk was dismissed as PSV Eindhoven entered the race after having tried to land the winger in the January transfer window.
The pendulum has swung back towards Burnley, and there’s now renewed confidence a deal will be done.
Corriere dello Sport report the Clarets have made a renewed attempt for the France U21 player, putting forward €13m to €14m for his signature. Lazio’s initial valuation was €15m and ‘the distance is minimal’ between the two parties.
The newspaper believe Burnley’s deal should now quickly close. The sale will not provide Lazio too much of a capital profit but it will bring in some handy money that can be used in potential incomings.
They claim Burnley had initially made a loan offer with an option to buy, and the rejection of that approach brought PSV into the race. Scott Parker’s side have now made a decisive move, with Lazio already looking around for replacements.
