Sheffield United, West Bromwich Albion and Swansea City are among the clubs in the mix to sign Gora Diouf this summer.
The 21-year-old has less than a month left on his contract at FC Sion. He’s expected to leave them as a free agent and is being chased by ‘half of Europe’.
That’s according to Blick, who name Sheffield United, West Brom and Swansea City as interested parties.
In addition to the Championship trio, FC Basel, FC Lugano, Samsunspor, French clubs FC Lorient, Toulouse and Angers SCO are among his suitors.
The Senegalese started at a Dakar based academy, Étoile Lusitana, and left them for the Swiss club in 2022. He was promoted to their first team in April 2023 and played 2,592 minutes from 38 games for them.
According to Blick, Diouf could fail to obtain a work permit in the UK. Therefore, Sheffield United, West Brom or Swansea City wouldn’t be able to sign him this summer even though he’s available for free.
Blick report he won’t be able to collect the points needed to obtain a work permit, whether that’s the case or not remains to be seen.
