There’s a claim in the Turkish media Nottingham Forest are showing interest in Trabzonspor defender Arseniy Batagov.

The Ukraine international has impressed for the Super Lig side since his arrival last summer, which has brought him to the attention of others, including Nottingham Forest and Brighton & Hove Albion.

Fanatik report on the latest developments regarding the 23-year-old and state Nottingham Forest are pursuing the youngster. According to the Turkish media outlet the English club are lining up a €15m offer for the player.

However, Trabzonspor are keen to keep hold of the player and would need more to make them consider a sale. Something around €20m is thought to be the point at which they’d wobble.

The defender, who is contracted to Trabzonspor until 2029, made 18 league appearances last season, scoring one goal. He’s yet to make his national debut for Ukraine but has played them at youth level.

Arseniy Batagov is represented by the Ukrainian agency ProStar, who have Everton’s Vitaliy Mykolenko and Brentford’s Yehor Yarmolyuk in the Premier League.
