Palmeiras failed to sign Nottingham Forest’s Ramón Sosa in the winter market and also before the Club World Cup. Last month, it was stated he wants to continue in Europe, either with the Reds or with another club.
On May 29th, the winger insisted he wants to stay in the Premier League amid claims of interest from Brazil.
Earlier this week, journalist Christian Martin stated the Nottingham Forest player’s move to Palmeiras is back on track. He also reported the two clubs have made advances after negotiating for the past three weeks.
ESPN in Brazil now back it up and provide the latest. They report the Brazilian club have offered €11m and Nuno EspÃrito Santo’s side have ‘accepted the offer’. The 25-year-old’s approval is needed to conclude the operation.
They point out Palmeiras’ failure to sign the Paraguay international before the start of the Club World Cup. With their ‘new approach and even more convincing proposal’, the South American club are optimistic of securing Sosa’s services.
Palmeiras’ Paraguayan captain Gustavo Gómez has had direct talks with his compatriot and explained details about the club, the structure and working conditions. so at work to convince the attacker.
Sosa hasn’t given a definitive response and asked for time to make the final decision.
