Sheffield United midfielder Vinicius Souza is expected at VfL Wolfsburg today to undergo a medical and complete his move to the German club.

That’s according to Kicker, who report that an agreement between all parties has been reached, and he is now booked in for a medical to finalise the move.

The newspaper reports that Wolfsburg are set to sign Souza from Sheffield United in a €15m deal. He’ll be the latest Brazilian to pay for the German club, something they’ve had success with in the past.

The Sheffield United midfielder is now booked in for a medical before the final parts of the deal are signed off. And by Kicker’s response, there’s plenty of excitement about the transfer too.

They say Souza is considered a ‘tackling machine’ and within Wolfsburg he is referred to as a “monster”. They perceive him as a player who is happy to do the dirty work, and that’s very exciting for them.

They believe they are bringing in top-class competition for Maximilian Arnold and the hope is that they can work a way to get both in the team at the same time at some point.

He has to pass a medical first, but everything is on course and there’s plenty of excitement about the imminent arrival.
