Leeds United have initiated contact with Douglas Luiz’s entourage and have a ‘glimmer of hope’ of signing the Juventus midfielder.
That’s according to Calciomercato, who report that Leeds could have a chance of securing what would be an impressive transfer coup for them.
They explain that after a terrible year at Juventus following his move from Aston Villa, the Italian side are keen to move Douglas Luiz on this summer.
The Premier League has not forgotten about him and Juventus want to exploit that, hopefully before the end of this month. Such a quick deal would help their accounts considerably.
Leeds United are one of the clubs in England who would like him, and their interest has been taking shape in the last few hours. In fact, they have made an approach to the midfielder’s entourage and are seen as the most viable path for the player.
They had been largely dismissed as an option earlier this summer as Luiz had bigger aspirations, but they’ve now been given a glimmer of hope, thanks to Juventus’ desire to sell and other clubs not stepping forward as yet.
