There’s a claim in the Turkish media that Hull City forward Abdülkadir Ömür wants to sign for Samsunspor.

The 25-year-old has been linked with the Super Lig side in recent weeks, along with Antalyaspor. He looks surplus to requirements with the Championship club, and he spent the second half of last season on loan with Çaykur Rizespor.

Aksam report on Ömür’s future, with him expected to be sold by Hull City during this transfer window.

Samsunspor are ready to move in on the former Turkey international and hoping to get a cut price deal for him. Fellow Super Lig side Antalyaspor are also said to be still interested in signing the player and their manager Emre Belözoğlu is keen.

However, the chance to return to a Black Sea club is likely to be a factor in Ömür’s final decision. He started his career in the region with Trabzonspor and then had his loan spell in Rizespor last season.

Ömür had problems in England last season and there were even reports he could walk away from football. He made 21 appearances for Hull City last season, and he’s contracted to the Tigers until June 2027.
