Crystal Palace have set their sights on Ajax defender Borna Sosa, who wants to secure a quick departure from the Dutch giants this summer.
That’s according to Voetbal International, who report that Oliver Glasner is pushing to sign the full-back as he knows him from his time in the Bundesliga.
They report that Glasner is looking for a new wing-back to cover the departure of Ben Chilwell, who is not being signed permanently from Chelsea.
Sosa is keen on the move to Crystal Palace, but other clubs have approached him this summer. The interested parties, including Palace now have to find an agreement with Ajax. They will not allow Sosa to leave on loan this summer.
Sosa is determined to leave as he wants to play at the World Cup next summer. He wants to remain in Croatia’s sights and thinks a move away from Ajax will help with that. He spent last season on loan at Torino and now wants a permanent exit sorted quickly.
Ajax are also happy to let him go because of his high wages, with his current deal set to run for another three years. It seems they’re now waiting for official bids to arrive from Crystal Palace and others, but that is certainly in the offing.
